Spinning the baby out

For any of you out there that may be expecting a baby can I suggest you consider taking up spinning if you go over your due date. Crafty Baby 2 will be 5 weeks old tomorrow and I swear that it was the spinning that got her to finally shift from her ever so comfortable position at a full 7 days overdue. Following all the helpful advice to stay upright and active I thought I might as well do something I enjoyed so I whipped out one of my drop spindles and a bag of fibre (my mother did suggest I do some cleaning but I chose to ignore her). An afternoon of spindling and labour kicked in, result!

A few complications after the birth have meant that I have only just got back to crafting, just in time for Christmas. I did say I wasn’t going to knit any presents this year but I seem to have forgotten this when I cast on 3 pairs of socks, 2 cowls and a shawl! Mastering the ability to knit whilst breastfeeding comes in very handy, now if only I could add wrestling a toddler to this I may stand a chance of getting everything finished in time.

I’m hoping to post details of my current WIPs, FOs and spinning efforts in more detail soon but in the mean time you can always find me on Twitter as Crafty Nadine.

About themanyknitsofnadine

Interested in all things crafty, I knit, spin, sew, crochet, quilt, grow my own and bake (although the baking these days is all allergy friendly) and I try and blog about all these things. I also host a bi-weekly podcast on incorporating slow living into all my crafty adventures
